Amber Rudd MP, our new Secretary of State for Energy &amp; Climate Change, blogged on 27 May 2015; what did she say?<\/p>\n<p>It might be more productive to observe first what was not said; here are my top three:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul_li_icon\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: inherit;\">No \u2018industry wide consultation\u2019 to deal with the march of the Trilemma and its conundrums; of course, it\u2019s\u00a0 still\u00a0 lurking\u00a0 at\u00a0 the\u00a0 top\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 blog\u00a0 but\u00a0 moving\u00a0 nearly\u00a0 towards\u00a0 something\u00a0 a\u00a0 power\u00a0 engineer\u00a0 can understand (see below)<\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: inherit;\">No \u2018prize freeze\u2019 and subsequent industry meltdown (not a political comment by the way)<\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: inherit;\">No \u2018new Ofgem\u2019 &#8211; the toothless regulator is to stay<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This\u00a0 is\u00a0 progress\u00a0 verging\u00a0 on\u00a0 stability\u00a0 and\u00a0 a\u00a0 chance\u00a0 to\u00a0 get on\u00a0 with\u00a0 some\u00a0 real\u00a0 work\u00a0 rather\u00a0 than\u00a0 wade\u00a0 through another 300 page consultation paper.\u00a0 Labour\u2019s prize freeze would have been a big distraction, so all good on that front.
