Prof. John Loughhead

John has over 30 years’ experience in R&D, innovation and product development in the energy sector. He became the Chief Scientific Adviser to DECC in 2014 having previously been Executive Director of the UK Energy Research Centre. Before that he was Corporate Vice-President for the Alstom Group where he led R&D and technology assessments supporting M&A activity. John is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, Past-President (2008) of the Institution of Engineering & Technology and Honorary Professor of Engineering at Cardiff University.
